Absolutely LOVE this artist! Dailey's Woodworking has some of the most beautiful wood turnings I have ever seen! How beautiful would this be in your kitchen? Check out his Etsy shop to see more of his breathtaking designs! (Great stuff if you're a "foodie" too!)

So excited to list a non-jewelry item for sale!
I'm very excited to have finally listed an item for sale in my Etsy shop that is not a jewelry item! I'm getting the sewing machine out this week to create some fun stuff! I love working on a craft that haven't done for a while!

Today's Maine Artist - Abbey Lee
Here is the Maine Artist I want to share with you today. I LOVE these rugs. This is one of those crafts I'd love to try, but I know I'd get "hooked" (hehe) and I would have yet one more "hobby". :) These rugs are so beautiful!

Maine crafter/business of the day!
I have not ordered anything from this bakery, but the Etsy shop has incredible reviews! I think these cookies are beautiful! Simple yet stunning!
Its a beautiful bright clear morning with a fresh coating of snow! Got the camera out to take a few practice shots. I'm trying to increase my photography skills! Check out what I was able to get! So cute!
In addition....if you have a cat and want to make them go absolutely nuts, go to the Audubon website and choose a little song bird. Go to the "listen" section that allows you to listen to recordings of the bird. Play a few recordings. Should be your entertainment for the day! :)

Maine artist of the day!
So, I have a goal to get involved with the artist/craftsman community in Maine. Right now I am researching artists, and trying to get my small business off the ground. I am very interested in the "shop local/buy local" movement and I have been trying to familiarize myself with artists in Maine. I'd like to share some of my favorite finds. I would LOVE to share a new one every day, but I'm not sure I can keep up! For today, I want to share an artist from my hometown. Her work is wonderful. I'm sure you'll enjoy it!
Introduction!
My name is Lisa Allen and I am The Scattered Artisan and a proud member of the Etsy Maine Team!
I am an avid crafter with a variety of artistic interests. I "served" as a military spouse for twenty four years, moved 17 times and lived in four states and three countries during our military years. Many moves means many jobs. I worked in customer service, the clothing manufacturing industry, the jewelry manufacturing industry, in administrative capacities, in graphics shops, in framing, floral design, cake decorating and property management. I even attended veterinary assistant training, and although I did not work in the field, I have utilized my training for years as an animal rescue volunteer and with my own pets! Throughout all these moves, locations and career paths, one passion remained. Crafting.
With such incredible opportunities to meet new people and explore different cultures, I also had opportunities to be introduced to, experiment with, and adopt many crafting ventures. Although I experimented with things such as oil painting, needle point, cross stitch, ceramics, pottery, knitting, floral arranging, wood carving, and many other areas too numerous to list, my primary passions are quilting, decorative painting, creating sewn craft projects, card making, paper crafting, and jewelry design.
Now that my husband of 25 years has retired and we find ourselves back home in Maine, I am concentrating my efforts on my crafting passions. When it came time to name my business, I knew I needed to encompass many types of handcrafts in the name. I believe THE SCATTERED ARTISAN describes me perfectly!
